2020-Ford-ranger BlueFord recently brought the Ranger back into its lineup and continues to improve upon this model. This midsize pickup truck is powerful, capable, and ready for any adventure. Take a closer look at what’s new and improved on the 2021 Ranger.

1. Class-Exclusive Turbocharged Engine

Beneath the hood of the 2021 Ford Ranger, you’ll find a class-exclusive powertrain that delivers efficient, consistent power. The standard engine across all trim levels is a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 310 pound-feet of torque and 270 horsepower. This engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive is available as an option on all trim levels. If you do add four-wheel drive, your Ranger will boast nearly 9 inches of ground clearance for more effective navigation on rough terrain.

2. Tremor Off-Road Package

One of the key new additions for the 2021 model year is the Tremor Off-Road package. This suite of features includes an upgraded suspension that increases the ground clearance by 0.8 of an inch and adds off-road-specific Fox shocks, side steps, underbody protection, and a set of 32-inch all-terrain tires. The package also adds auxiliary switches that allow you to control the added off-road accessories. Additional front and rear tow hooks and a set of magnetic-painted alloy wheels also come standard with this package.

3. Impressive Standard and Available Safety Equipment

The base XL trim level of the 2021 Ranger comes equipped with an impressive list of safety features. These include a rearview camera, advanced stability and traction control, air bags throughout the cabin, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. The base trim is also available with the Co-Pilot360 package, which adds blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keep assist. Additional upgrades include rear parking sensors and adaptive cruise control.

4. Ready for Adventure

Although it’s a midsize pickup, the Ranger doesn’t disappoint when you need to haul and tow heavy loads. When equipped with the Trailer Tow package and rear-wheel drive, this truck can tow up to 7,500 pounds, and its payload capacity tops out at 2,128 pounds. The Trailer Tow package is available on any trim level and comes with a hitch and four-to-seven-pin adaptor.

5. High-End Cabin Features

The base XL trim level of the 2021 Ranger comes equipped with basic features, such as manual climate control, cloth upholstery, and a four-speaker audio system. However, if you want a more upscale cabin, choose one of the higher trim levels equipped with optional packages. Some of the available comfort features include leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable and heated front seats, and keyless entry. You can also add a premium audio system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, an 8-inch touchscreen with Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system, and navigation.
