2020 Ford F-150 Raptor BlueWhether you’re an off-roading enthusiast or you love the sleek styling of the Ford Raptor, you’ll love the latest model in the Ford lineup. Check out what we know so far about this impressive pickup truck.

When Ford developers first launched the idea of a powerful and capable off-road-themed F-150, it was killed during the development phase. However, Ford returned to the idea and created the Raptor, an incredibly powerful model that appeals to drivers who don’t want to sacrifice performance for capability. The latest model, the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, is Ford’s most capable off-roading truck yet.

The model comes standard with a cutting-edge suspension and terrain management system that provide stability in all conditions. With the terrain management system’s trail settings, the driver can choose between different driving modes, like rock crawl, slippery, tow/haul, normal, off-road, and sport. If you frequently jump the dunes, the Baja mode is for you.

Eye-Catching Exterior Features

Ford added some new enhancements to the Raptor trim for the 2021 model year. The new model comes outfitted with 37-inch wheels and tires, which is quite a feat for standard equipment. In the past, buyers would have to take the truck apart to fit such massive wheels, but this model is designed to tackle all types of terrain with ease. The large wheels are two inches larger than the previous Raptor’s, lifting the truck and allowing it to crawl over rocks and ruts.

Power Beneath the Hood

The all-new Raptor comes equipped with a twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost high-output engine that produces 510 pound-feet of torque. The horsepower output hasn’t been released yet, but it’s expected to come in higher than the outgoing model’s output of 450 horsepower. The engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and an automatic four-wheel-drive transfer case. A limited slip differential is available as an option, while a locking rear differential comes standard.

Connected Tech Features

In addition to being the most off-road-ready version of the Raptor yet, this truck also boasts incredible tech features to keep you connected, entertained, and safe. On the entertainment side, the high-tech cockpit boasts a 12-inch digital gauge cluster with off-road data, turn-by-turn navigation, and a customizable interface. A new 12-inch central display screen is also standard, and it can be split to control multiple systems at the same time.

FordPass is a mobile app that makes it easy to control your truck from anywhere. This feature allows you to remotely lock and unlock the vehicle, check the fuel level and tire pressure, and utilize zone lighting, trailer light check, and trailer theft alert. The Raptor also includes Ford’s suite of safety features, bundling lane departure warning, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring with rear automatic braking, and lane-keep assist.
