V-6 Power

The Ford F-150 combines both power and durability, making it the perfect accessory to your workday. The 2020 Ford F-150 is also available in six engines, so you can choose the power capabilities that best suits your needs. It comes standard with a 3.3-liter VCT, V-6 engine with 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. This engine is also paired with a twin independent variable cam timing system, making it a powerfully efficient drive too.

Another EcoBoost 3.5-liter engine is available in the F-150, this one offering 375 horsepower with 470 pound-feet of torque. The turbocharged technologies paired with an efficient engine means higher output, making it a good choice for drivers with tons of towing or hauling needs. An even higher-output, 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine is also available in the F-150 lineup, with 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. This engine is designed for sportier drivers, especially those with large towing needs, including recreational boats or campers. The Ford Expedition also has many V-6 engines available that offer plenty of power for all your adventure driving needs.

Diesel Power Engines

Of course, Ford’s lineup also includes diesel options. Diesel trucks give drivers more torque and fewer mechanical parts. Diesel can also be more cost-efficient if you spend a lot of time on the road. The 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V-6 engine in the F-150 offers 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. It is also paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, giving it a capable 11,500 pounds of towing capability. The 2020 Ford Super Duty is another capable diesel-powered truck.

V-8 Power

If you’re looking for V-8 power, then you will definitely want to check out the 5.0-liter V-8 engine with 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, also available in the F-150. This engine comes with the ability to convert to propane or natural gas and is available with four-wheel drive.

Of course, this list would not be complete without considering Ford’s powerful sports cars. The Shelby GT500 may not be available in dealerships yet, but it will be one of the most powerful rides on the road. This engine will be hand-built, meaning there will be a limited number available. As far as power goes, you can expect a 5.0-liter Predator V-8 engine with 760 horsepower. This sports car will be built in the exclusive Romeo Engine Plant, which has a history of building the most top-of-the-line vehicles.

The Future of Electric Power

Ford also understands the importance of moving to electric-powered vehicles over the next couple of years. While Ford has not yet released the Ford F-150 EV, they have released teasers. This battery-powered truck promises to be both efficient and capable.

Ford has created a reputation for power with many of its vehicles. Come by Legacy Ford of Texas today to check out some of Ford’s top and most powerful vehicles, including the Ford F-150 and the Shelby.
