child looking through rainy windowIt’s hard enough to keep your kids entertained on a day with good weather, so rainy days can sometimes be outright exhausting. Fortunately, you don’t have come up with clever at-home ideas on every rainy day with so many safe and fun attractions in the area. Here are some of the best places to take your kids on a rainy day.

Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land

The Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land gives kids an educational experience with plenty of fun. Located at 13016 University Blvd in Sugar Land, HMNS at Sugar Land has a generous offering of both permanent exhibitions and special attractions. Your kids will get lost in the stars in the Space Science exhibition, wonder at nature in the Life Science collection, and better understand the conveniences in their lives thanks to the Hall of Technology.

In addition to HMNS Sugar Land’s permanent exhibitions, your kids will also love the museum’s special attractions. Allow them to feel like a true paleontologist in the Dig Pit as they uncover cast dinosaur bones, or take them to the Augmented Reality exhibit so they can walk among the animals whose bones they just dug up.

Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center

The Fort Bend Children’s Discovery center, found at 198 Kempner St in Sugar Land, takes the marriage of fun and education to the next level. Visit Kidtropolis and your kids will learn more about finances and civic engagement as they collaborate to run an entire city. The Shocks and Jolts exhibit, on the other hand, will help your kids better understand electricity by seeing properties like electromagnetism and circuits in action. Your kids can also receive a cultural education at Fort Bend, thanks to the Cum Yah Gullah exhibit, which walks guests through the vibrant story of the Gullah people.

Cosmic Air Trampoline Park

If your kids really just need to get their energy out, then bring them to Cosmic Air Trampoline Park, located at 1210 Fry Rd in Houston. Cosmic is more than just a warehouse with trampolines; it will let your kids put their skills to the test. The Ninja Course, for example, will give them a Ninja-Warrior-style challenge that sends them across hanging logs and over many other obstacles. The Space Jam attraction lets your kids dunk like their favorite NBA player with basketball nets hung above trampolines. And while the kids play, you can grab a snack at the Cosmic Cafe.

Hooray Indoor Playground

Maybe your kids aren’t quite old enough to safely play at a place like Cosmic Air. If that’s the case, then come to Hooray Indoor Playground at 3750 South Mason Rd, Suite 400, in Katy. Hooray provides a safe and fun play environment for kids seven and under, and even that environment is broken down to better accommodate kids of different ages. The Toddler Play Area is for the youngest tots, while their older siblings may want to play on the Jungle Gym or attack their friends in the Ball Blaster Zone.

Don’t let a rainy day get you down. Take your kids to any of these attractions and you’ll not only keep them entertained, but you’ll also make sweet memories.
